The behavior by these shoppers is the very thing that disgusts me about this holiday. The obscene obligatory competetive commercial event that it has become. Media and stores encourage it and "the sheep" follow.

When bush took office eight years ago, I recall stating, "Well the only thing we can hope is that he doesn't do too much damage to our economy, foreign relations, and environment". So much for that hope.

Exactly what this country needs as a leader... Mr. Obama resists making quick judgments or responding to day-to-day fluctuations, aides say. Instead he follows a familiar set of steps: Perform copious research. Solicit expertise.
